Afternic VS Sedo

I’ve been trying to decide on which provider to use to list my domains for sale. I have to admit, that i’ve been lazy to list all the domain names in sedo.  I have few listed and the results are not that great. I received two offers so far: one for learngermanlanguage.com ($100) and for gomorocco.com ($100). Of course i refused them and counter offer with a  higher price, and that just ended the negotiation.

Lately, I have been reading that Afternic is scoring some nice sales to end users. I saw domain names selling for a good amount of money and, they are fair domains. Since afternic advertise the domains in a larger network, I decided to go with them, and list all my domains for sale.

While listing domains and changing their DNS to point to Afternic could be a pain, especially you have lot of domains and with different registrars.

This time i decided that I have to do it, and within the next 24 hours. It will increase of course the exposure of my domain names, and of course the ultimate goal: make some sales.

I will keep my word, list them, and hope for the best.

    Hi Adam
how has selling through afternic gone?

I placed some recently with afternic and now wonder whether I should have gone with sedo instead?

    Hello Christine,

I sold two domains so far using afternic and received about 4 or 5 offers. most of them are low or where they cask for the price and vanish :)
About Sedo vs Afternic.. I know the feeling and I had been bouncing between the two for a while, before I decided to stick with one: Afternic. To me their sales message on the top is more noticeable. I think if someone is interested in a domain name, they will do the effort to contact you once they know that the domain is for sale.
I’m sure a simple html sales page with a form could do the same job, if not better.

    Good luck

Hi Shasha, Afternic works best for me. I don’t have any specific justifications for it except my personal experience experience.

Sorry to remove your link to sedo, but I wish you best luck.
